Restorative YogaRestorative yoga is the beautiful practice of active relaxation and a quieter form of hatha yoga. It is a more physically still practice that uses the aid of yoga props such as bolsters, blankets, and blocks to support the body during each of the yoga postures. The nervous system deeply relaxes and the body gently opens with the prop support. The experience is pure bliss!
Restorative yoga is recommended for yoga practitioners of all levels and backgrounds. It is great for beginners looking to step their toe into the yoga water and advanced yogis to reset and restore their systems with their regular more vigorous yoga practices. It is also great for anyone undergoing times of stress. |
Hatha YogaHatha yoga is a generally more active physical practice - it is the combination of asanas (the physical yoga postures) with breathing exercises, philosophy, and meditation. Yoga translates to "sun" and 'moon" or "to yoke." Yoga connects the physical, mental, and spiritual bodies using the breath, and this practice contributes to both physical and mental benefits. A regular practice can increase flexibility, build strength, increase adaptability to stress, and promote well being.
